|
Welcome to the Ada Internet Projects page. Here you will find all kinds of projects that deal with internet related material. It doesn't matter how big or small a project, if it has to do with the internet in any way, I want to know about it so I can update this list. Internet is an important part of software development and if there's anything being developed for the internet, it should be known. There are currently 13 projects in this category If you have a project that you know of, working on a project yourself or are planning to start one, use the Feeback Form and let me know about it so it can be added to this listing.

| the Ada Internet Projects: | |
![]() A.W.S. |
A.W.S. (Ada Web Server) has two major role. The first is, as its name implies, a web server developed in Ada 95. The other no less important goal is that it provides a framework for Internet development. The authors of this project are Pascal Obry and Dmitriy Anisimkov and the project is currently at version 1.4. A definite must see for all Internet programming adepts. |
![]() XML/Ada |
XML/ada XML/Ada is a set of modules that provide a simple manipulation of XML streams. It supports the whole XML 1.0 specifications, and can parse any file that follows this standard (including the contents of the DTD). It also provides support for a number of other standard associated with XML, like SAX and DOM. Developed by Emmanuel Briot XML/Ada is currently at version 1.0. |
![]() ImgSvr |
ImgSvr is a personal or corporate Picture Web Server that lets you browse digital pictures, and if you're connected to the web, share the pictures with all your friends. In the near future, ImgSvr can be a tool for managing, organizing pictures through the web. This project is developed by Patrice Freydiere and is currently at version 0.2. An interesting project in my most humble opinion. |
![]() AdaSockets |
AdaSockets is an interface project that allows you to use BSD Sockets in your Ada development. It should make an excellent addition to your Internet arsenal of tools and is developed by Samuel Tardieu. AdaSockets is currently at Version 1.8.2. |
![]() AdaCGI |
AdaCGI is a binding to CGI (Common Gateway Interface) technology. it offers access to common CGI server messages and parameters in a stable and robust Ada 95 binding. Currently developed by David Wheeler, it is currently at version 1.6. |
![]() XML4Ada95 |
XML4Ada95 is a binding to the Xerces-Package developed by the Apache Group and allows to parse and serialize XML-Documents, access them via the DOM-Interface and validate them with DTDs and XML Schema. XML4Ada95 is developed by Denny Vrandecic and is currently at version 0.9. |
![]() E.W.S. |
E.W.S. (Embedded Web Server) is a web server construction kit, designed for embedded applications using the GNAT Ada compiler. E.W.S. is currently developed by Simon Wright. |
![]() Simple Ada MUD |
Simple Ada MUD Is essentially a chat related project that uses AdaSockets and allows for certain / functions as well. It seems to have been inspired by AOL chat. It is currently at version Alpha 7. |
![]() Internet Protocols |
Tom Moran has developed NC which is a high level Socket binding for Windows. It derives from a stripped down version of Claw.Sockets, with all Claw (www.rrsoftware.com), and most Windows, specific aspects removed. This file has the Winsock binding itself. Tom also has specifications and body of different protocols (http, ftp and smtp) using the NC Winsock Binding. Package Specifications for these can be downloaded here and the package body can be downloaded from here. |
![]() Ada Component library |
I'm sure you'll recognize this package from the Library section. this is developed Martin Krischik and the reason why it is also in the internet projects section is because AdaCL now has AdaCL.CGI which belongs in this category. it implements all standard CGI functionality. |
![]() AdaGIO |
Adagio aims to provide a server-only solution for the recently published Gnutella2 protocol (www.gnutella2.com). It's primary purpose is to implement all the aspects of this protocol related to serving capabilities, that principally comprise: Library maintenance, local querying and hits reporting and upload to remote clients capabilities. Other related features are bandwidth throttling, multiple queues and, in general, any complementary aspects that can enhance the server task. |
![]() AdacURL |
AdacURL is a thin binding to the C API for libcurl. At the moment, this binding covers version 7.10.6 to 7.11.2. This library tries to mimic the C API as close as possible. Created by Andreas Almroth, AdacURL is currently at version 7.12.1. |
![]() ASIS2XML |
This program converts a unit's ASIS representation into XML, so as to make it easier to develop transformational tools using (for example) XSLT. This program is made by The Free Software Foundation, Inc. and is currently at version 20041024a as stated on the website. |
